Same-Day Dental Implants in Atlanta, GA
For patients who qualify, ANEWU places a full arch of implants and attaches fixed temporary teeth the same day, so you do not spend the healing months without a smile.
What are same-day dental implants?
Same-day dental implants, called Same-Day Smiles at ANEWU, place a full arch of implants and attach a fixed temporary bridge during the same surgery. You leave with teeth rather than an empty healing period. Bone volume and bite decide whether a case qualifies, and a 3D scan confirms it.
Implants and a fixed temporary bridge, in one visit.
What actually happens on surgery day, and why the teeth you walk out with are not the teeth you keep.
Same-Day Smiles is what ANEWU calls same-day teeth on a full arch case. Implants are placed in one outpatient surgery and, when they are stable enough at placement, a temporary fixed bridge is screwed onto them before you leave. It does not come out at night and it does not rely on adhesive.
The word temporary is doing real work there. That bridge lets you smile, speak and manage a soft diet while the implants fuse to the jaw. Your final restoration is made afterward in our on site lab, and replaces the temporary once healing is complete.
Same-day teeth are a timing option on top of a full arch plan, not a separate procedure. The underlying treatment is full-arch restoration, and the scan decides both which design fits and whether the same-day step is safe to add.

How do I replace missing teeth and still leave with a smile the same day?
Missing teeth are replaced the same day when a full arch of implants is placed and a fixed temporary bridge is attached to them in one surgery. ANEWU makes that bridge in its on site lab. A 3D scan at your consultation shows whether your bone and bite support it.
If you have ever wondered how to replace missing teeth without spending months hiding your mouth, this is the part of the plan that answers it. The same-day step does not change what is being built, only when you first wear it.
Four implants carrying one fixed bridge is the most common version of that plan, which is what All-On-4 describes. Spreading the same bridge across six implants adds support in jaws that can take them.
If the scan shows the implants will not be firm enough at placement to carry a bridge right away, same-day teeth are not the right call for your case. That is a timing decision, not a refusal, and the end result is the same.
Am I a candidate for same-day teeth?
You are likely a candidate for same-day teeth if you are losing, or have already lost, all of the teeth in one arch and have enough jawbone to hold implants firmly at placement. Your bite matters too. Dr. Abtin Shahriari confirms both with a 3D scan at your free consultation.
- You have lost, or are about to lose, all of the teeth in an arch
- You have enough bone to hold implants firmly on the day they are placed
- Your bite does not put uneven load on a new bridge while it heals
- You want to avoid a long stretch without teeth during healing
- You understand the temporary bridge is a step toward your final restoration, not the end result
- You are in good general health for outpatient surgery
Being told elsewhere that you lack the bone is not the end of it. Bone grafting rebuilds the ridge so implants can be placed later, which pushes the same-day step out but keeps the fixed result on the table.
Where the upper back jaw has collapsed under the sinus, zygomatic implants anchor in the cheekbone instead and can avoid grafting altogether.
Either way, one visit settles it. What to expect at your first visit is worth reading before you come in.

From your first scan to your final restoration.
Five steps, two of which happen on the same day. The gap between step four and step five is the healing period.
- 01
Consultation and 3D imaging
A free consultation with a 3D scan of your jaw, taken before any plan is recommended. The scan determines whether same-day teeth are realistic. Guided implant surgery is planned from the same images.
- 02
Your treatment plan
Implant number, position and angle are mapped to your anatomy, along with whether grafting is needed first. You are told at this point whether the same-day step is part of your plan.
- 03
Implant placement
The implants are placed in a single outpatient surgery. Stability is measured as each one goes in, because that reading is what clears the temporary bridge.
- 04
Temporary fixed teeth, the same day
For qualifying cases the temporary bridge is attached to the new implants before you leave. You go home with a fixed set of teeth and a written aftercare plan.
- 05
Healing, then your final restoration
The implants integrate with the jawbone over the following months while you wear the temporary. Your final restoration is then made in our on site lab and fitted to the same implants.

Leaving with teeth, or leaving to wait.
Both routes end in a fixed restoration on implants. What separates them is what you wear during the healing months.
Same-day smiles
- Temporary fixed teeth attached the day of surgery
- Function and appearance through the healing period
- Final restoration follows once the implants integrate
- Depends on implants being firm enough at placement
Traditional staged timeline
- A removable temporary appliance, if any, during healing
- A longer wait before anything fixed is attached
- Suits cases that do not qualify for same-day loading
- Ends in the same type of fixed, implant-supported result
How long does recovery take after same-day implant surgery?
Recovery after same-day implant surgery runs in stages. Swelling and soreness are heaviest in the first few days, a soft diet covers the early weeks, and the implants keep integrating with the jaw over a healing period of months before the final restoration is fitted. Your surgeon sets the timeline for your case.
If you have ever wondered what the weeks after implant surgery actually feel like, the shape is front-loaded. The hardest part sits at the beginning and eases steadily, and the long tail is waiting rather than discomfort. Your written post-op instructions cover the specifics.
| Stage | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Surgery day | Implants placed and, for qualifying cases, the temporary bridge attached. You go home the same day with an aftercare plan. |
| First few days | Swelling and soreness are at their peak, then begin to settle. Rest, cold packs and a liquid to very soft diet. |
| Weeks one to two | Swelling falls away and most daily routines resume. Still a soft diet, with a follow-up visit to check the bridge. |
| The healing months | The implants integrate with the jawbone while you wear the temporary bridge. Diet widens gradually on your surgeon's instruction. |
| Final restoration | Once integration is confirmed, the temporary comes off and your final restoration is fitted to the same implants. |
How much do same-day dental implants cost in Atlanta?
Same-day implant cost at ANEWU depends on how many implants your case needs, whether bone grafting comes first, and which materials your final restoration uses. Dental insurance typically does not cover implant treatment. ANEWU accepts CareCredit and Proceed Finance and can arrange a monthly payment plan before your procedure.
Dental insurance and implant treatment
Most dental plans were written around fillings, extractions and dentures, so implant treatment usually sits outside what they cover. Some contribute toward part of a case, more often an extraction or the restoration than the implants.
We will tell you what your plan reaches before you commit to anything, and that consultation is free.
CareCredit and Proceed Finance
ANEWU accepts CareCredit and Proceed Finance, and a monthly payment plan can be arranged before your procedure rather than after it. We also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Full details of both lenders, and what you need to apply, sit on our implant financing options page.
Where is this treatment performed?
Implant surgery is performed at all three ANEWU offices in Georgia. Patients north of Atlanta most often use the Cumming or Dawsonville offices, both just off the GA-400 corridor, while the Buckhead office serves patients inside the perimeter. Records move between offices, so follow up can happen at whichever address is closer.
Same-day smiles, answered.
Straightforward answers to the questions we hear most at a consultation.
Ask us directlyNo. The teeth placed the day of surgery are a temporary fixed bridge. Once your implants have fully healed, they're replaced with your final, permanent restoration.
You'll follow a healing diet and aftercare plan while the implants integrate with your jawbone. Our team stays with you through that process before moving to the final restoration.
You'll start on a softer diet immediately after surgery and progress gradually as you heal. Dr. Abtin's team will give you a specific timeline based on your case.
No additional surgery is typically needed. Once healing is complete, the temporary bridge is replaced with your final restoration using the same implants placed on surgery day.
